How to marry a millionaire....

woahhhhhhh

Pop magazine, their 22nd issue for Spring/Summer, had Richard Prince photograph model Abbey Lee. Richard Prince! He does seem to have a thing for young models though, remember the infamous photograph of Brooke Shields? (image below)

Sugar and Spice

During Gucci's FW 2010/2011 show at Milan fashion week, all the attention was grabbed by the angry Anna Wintour protesters. They mockingly wore the Wintour uniform and wore shirts that said " I will only stay 3 days". Before the beginning of Milan fashion week, she announced to them she was to only stay three days. With this news, this made the organizers of Milan fashion week squeeze their original nine day event into five days. An interesting protest...

I want summer!

Lust

T by Alexander Wang is now available at Opening Ceremony! And this line looks comfortable to wear and to BUY! All pieces are under $100. Definitely into the sweatshorts and simple tees.

Carin Wester's FW 2010/2011 line from Stockholm fashion week. I love the grunge princess theme, pairing simple black pieces with velvet, floral prints, and turbans! A pretty and eclectic mess! Not so sure if I'm loving the nylon socks, but it looks great with Wester's feminine styling of the line. My favorite part about the styling though is the hair! Lately, pink to blue hair has been seen on runways, but here Wester has small traces of color in the models hair. I especially love the silver streak with the matted hair.

I would like all of these, please!

Great FW 2010/11 collection from Louise Amstrup at Copenhagen fashion week. I love the tie-dye mix with the sheer blacks and grays. Reminds me a little of what Prada was doing with the gaseous and colorful print work - but in Amstrup's collection, she calms down the crazy mix with the perfect amount of black. But honestly, can you ever have enough black?

The beautiful and androgynous Freja Beha Erichsen in Vogue Nippon shot by Terry Richardson. Definitely one my favorite editorials so far in current magazines, love the burlesque taxidermy theme:

Sucker for Trends

The eclectic trends of spring have again bursted out in all fashion magazines, and like always, I have fallen victim to loving several of them. The few I see now are pig-tails (the childish messy side-part from Prada's runway) and white eyeliner. But there are definitely a couple I will stray away from - the disappearing eyebrow and clogs! Mainly I was in love with Prada's shows, her sci-fi inspired line incorporates surreal prints and illusionistic cuts.

And of course the buttery leather trend is something to love. Below are examples of perfect spring outfits. The leather is all light weight, making it appropriate for spring's weather. From left to right: Celine dress, Alexander Wang AMAZING lamb skin shorts, and top by 3.1 Phillip Lim:

And I'm definitely into the double-demin look, chambray jumpsuits, and underwear as outerwear:

'Behind the Scenes o New York, Paris, and Milan'

This month's 'New York' magazine was PACKED full with everything "it" about Spring, and with Mad Men's red-haired vixen on front, readers were voluptuously teased into the pages. I love the spread of behind the scenes pictures from the New York, Paris, and Milan SS 2010 runway shows shot by Lauren Greenfield. The pictures capture more than the clothes from fashion week. Readers are given the raw imagery of twisted musculature from models falling of sky-rocketing heels, an Anna Wintour candid with her uniform sunglasses tucked into her bob, and then to classic shots of the models-off-duty. I definitely suggest picking up the issue, and their memorial piece about McQueen was a beautiful narrative, forcing me to be more nostalgic than I expected.
